SMS Terms & Consent Policy
Sparkwright.ai provides AI receptionist services for home service businesses (plumbers, HVAC technicians, electricians, and other trades). This policy explains how we collect consent for and use SMS messaging.
What Messages We Send
We send transactional SMS messages only, including:
- Appointment confirmations
- Appointment reminders
- Appointment reschedule/cancellation confirmations
- Emergency service alerts
- Messages from callers to business owners
We do not send marketing or promotional messages.
How Consent is Collected
For end customers (people booking appointments):
Consent is collected verbally during phone calls. When a caller provides their phone number to book an appointment, our AI receptionist informs them: "You'll receive a text confirmation." By providing their phone number and completing the booking, the caller consents to receive appointment-related SMS messages. All calls are recorded as proof of consent.

The following script is spoken by our AI receptionist during the appointment booking process:
After booking is confirmed (exact script):
"You'll receive a text confirmation and reminder at this number. Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP to opt out at any time."
CTIA Required Disclosures (delivered verbally):
- Program description: "text confirmation and appointment reminder"
- Message frequency: Implied (confirmation + reminder = 2 messages per appointment)
- Data rates: "Message and data rates may apply"
- Opt-out instructions: "Reply STOP to opt out at any time"
Consent mechanism: By providing their phone number and proceeding with the booking after hearing this disclosure, the customer provides informed verbal consent. All calls are recorded as proof of consent.
First SMS message includes:
- Business name identification
- Appointment details
- Opt-out instructions: "Reply STOP to opt out."
For business customers (tradespeople signing up):
Consent is collected via checkbox during account signup on our website. Users must agree to receive account-related SMS notifications before completing registration.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on appointment activity. Typically, customers receive 1-3 messages per appointment (confirmation, reminder, and any changes).
How to Opt Out
You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any message

All SMS messages include opt-out instructions.
Costs
Message and data rates may apply. Sparkwright does not charge for SMS messages, but your carrier's standard messaging rates may apply.
Privacy
Phone numbers are used only for appointment-related communications. We do not sell or share phone numbers with third parties for marketing purposes.
